Bugis Singapore Street Food

I LOVE THIS SHOP AND I REALLY RECOMMEND ALL OF YOU TO TRY THIS!:)
i guess that would be my introduction for this :))
Migs and I found this super awesome store before i went to my church mates! this place is to die for!!! :')

This is Bugis! They sell Singaporean street foods!

The place is really simple:) They serve balls! you have them in sweet sauce, curry and more :)) They also have milo dinosaur here!:)) But they were out of stock when we went here:(

They have a variety of balls such as lobster balls, fish cakes, tiger calls, fish balls, chili and a lot more! :D

The price is really cheap!:) The price of the balls starts at Php 25.00/ stick :D

For their condiments, they have Hoissen, Peanut sauce and Chili sauce :)

Singaporean Laksa
This dish is served to us boiling hot, it was placed it this cool thingamajig! which makes it more appealing to eat, it's hard to get some of the noodles though because of the stuff in the middle:))

As you can see it is boiling hooooooot!:)
More than the presentation, the taste gives justice to its look! I can boldly say that this is an authentic Laksa! As Migs said, it is better than Banana leaf, and I say, better than Marriot Hotel :) This is really good! The coconut is very rich! The spices oozes in your mouth:D This Laksa is served spicy!!!:) The sauce is thick!!!:) It was served with lobster balls, fish ball, shrimp, egg and the white noodles:D This is to die for!!!:D
And to think, this is only Php 180.00 NO KIDDING! Sometimes it would just amaze you how some food tastes better than the expensive ones you see in the mall or some fancy places!:))

We ordered curry balls!:) The curry was really rich but not overwhelming! It was kind of sweet as well:) Migs told me when he went to Macau, this was like the same sauce that he tasted there:D It was really good! For this dish, you get to pick the balls you want and how they are cooked:) For us, we got the fishcake, tiger balls and fish balls cooked in sorry sauce:D

It is like a shabu-shabu ball galore :))

Tiger Balls in Curry Sauce

Fish Balls in Curry Sauce

Fish Cakes in Curry Sauce
How can we ever forget Mig's Favorite Singaporean / Indian Bread :))

ROTI PRATA
Roti Prata

We expected that the curry sauce in our balls and in the Roti are the same, but they were different, the curry sauce of the Roti was stronger than the sauce in the balls :)

I LOVE THIS PLACE!:) i got more excited to eat the foods here than Chelsea Market and Cafe!

ITS REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY GOOD HERE!
no kidding!
The Bugis experience won't be complete without the laksa :)
We will definitely go back again:)) we will try the curry puffs, milo dinosaur and the singaporean lime juice something :))
For you taft people out there!:)) you GOTS TO TRY!:D

Chelsea Market & Cafe

Most exciting date eveeeeeeeer :D Migs and I went to Chelsea market & cafe! This trip was not planned at all, we didn't really know where to eat, but hey! sometimes being spontaneous is not bad at all :))

Appetizers were served to us right after we ordered :D They served their homemade baked herbed bread with olive oil, baked garlic ( which by the way is very soft and not pungent) and balsamic vinegar for the spread :)

HEAVEN IN A PLATE!!!! :)

'Low and Slow' Merlot Braised U.S Beef Short Ribs

This looks soooooo delicious that I can't help but take lots picture of it!:))

Its taste is better than it looks! This was one hell of a beef! I'll tell you why on the next picture :D

This is  marbled meat, the meat was filled with fats inside, which makes it tastier! :) This is like Wagyu in your mouth:)) The beef was really tender and and really tasty!:) The gravy was just right! I love how they served it with small cherry tomatoes!:) I love tomatoes:) When Migs and I took a bite at this fine meat, we just stop and stared at each other! It was that good:D
This dished costs Php 750.00 good to share:)

Grilled ' Artisinal' Sausages

This dish is composed of 3 sausages:) Pepperoni sausage (the white one), Bratwurst (the orange) and Hungarian (the darker orange one) ;)

The sausage were soft and juicy :) I can say that the sausages were legit!:) The sausages were good for 3 persons!:) it was a lot actually :D

This sausage comes with a gravy and sauerkraut, horse radish and mash potato:)

Its amazing how they complimented the sausages with sauerkraut:We don't usually see them nowadays:) They taste different for me, it has a weird taste! They are kind of bitter, not too sour, and kind of sweet. Definitely not salty :)) can't explain it:))
This dish costs Php 695.00 :D

We were sooooo full after! It was a great meal!:D The meal was worth it I tell you :D We love it here:)
Next time, we would go here again for the Risotto or for the Pizza :)

Orchard Road and Toyko Bubble Tea, Milk Tea Place and Restaurant HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEBE BORJ :)

After  our thesis, bebe borj treated us to Orchard Road to celebrate her birthday- belated!:D
From taft we commuted going to megamall :D The original plan was to study there since we can't study in school then Borj surprised us when she told us that she will treat us for her birthday :D

THANK YOU BORJ :D

When we arrived in Shaw Blvd. station, we came a cross this awesome shop! From a far it's really catchy! It looked as if they were serving some delicious ice cream there!:D

With the shining 10 pesos on the window, and a plasma TV for advertisment who wouldn't try?!

How was the Ice cream?

it was HORRIBLE :| sorry. I'm just saying:|
It is like eating powdered ice cream that doesn't have any taste:|
I wasn't able t finish mine:|

After the ice cream we went to Orchard Road! Migs and I haven't tried this place yet! Borj said it was good there! True enough the food was good at the same time very affordable! Singaporean cuisine in the Philippines :D

Hainanese Chicken
The chicken is tender, very affordable at the same time!:D

Hainanese Chicken Rice
I think there are better Hainanese rice:) But this one would do:)

Laksa
It was ok I guess. I've tasted better:) The presentation was messy and it was served to us cold :| There was not much herbs inside, the herbs you would expect on a Laksa, such as cilantro and galangal weren't present :|

Chaw  Kway Teow
This was my personal favorite among the things we had ordered:) Ever since I love love love rice noodles, so that makes me biased:)) It was seasoned perfectly! It was generously stuffed with toppings.

Roti Prata
This is Migs's ultimate favorite!:D Roti! This dish comes with a curry dip!

Poh Hia
This is like a vietnamese spring roll. They taste different but the closest i can think of in terms of taste would be Lumpiang Ubod mixed with Vietnamese spring rolls. The serving is big, it is enough for 2-3 persons!:D

Kopi Tarik
This was one awesome coffee! This was Borj's ultimate favorite! She told me she goes back here in Orchard Road for this coffee! The coffee is really good! I got "kilig" when I drank this coffee! The perfect word to describe this is, bittersweet!:D I can't express how unique and good this coffee is--it's a must for you to try this!:) It's really good!:D

Kaya Bread

I saw this in asian food channel! I guess it was not what I expected when i watched it. Although I've never tasted one i think there is a big difference from the original one. The authentic Kaya bread is toasted in charcoal- it is like being grilled, then a special sweet coconut jam is usually used as the spread. The one I tasted in Orchard road is bread that was toasted in the toaster and a sugar-ish milk jam.

It would be awesome to try a bread toasted in charcoal :))

Afterwards, me and Borj looked for a place to study! Then Borj lead us to this cute japanese place Bubble Tea

Taro Milk Tea
The taro milk tea was great! The pearl was soft! This milk tea is different cause the syrup that comes with the pearl taste a lot like Taho syrup. It is unique and good at the same time! This one I think costed around Php 145.00 :D

My baby is tired na:))

Rai Rai Ken Ramen House and Sushi Bar

After my thesis and before Migs will go to his missions meeting in church, we ate in Rai Rai Ken in Harrison Plaza

Nothing special really:)) we just came here to eat:)) Migs had a heavy meal while i got something light:))

Beef Misono Bento Box
If I'm not mistaken this one costs around Php 150 or less? I'm not sure! It's a lot! especially with the tempura, I guess this is cheap already with quality!

Fish Fingers with Cheese

How do I say this? It was ok. I'm not a fan, but its not horrible. It's like eating nuggets that you buy in stores that was coated with tasteless cheese powder. The fish was not really a fish:)) it was like rolled cuttle fish ( the one that is usually served in Mini Shabu Shabu) that was breaded:)) But it was fun eating it after a half stick:D

Logos Hope Valleta Ship

Last march 13, 2012 we had one heck of an adventure! We Boarded  Logos Hope ship. the floating bookstore!:D

This was their last day in Manila! They will head south in Cebu:D I'm not sure long they will stay there:)

Before we explored the place, we were first brief on the history of Logos and some Dos and Don'ts inside the ship :)

On the other side of this red boat-ish seats is their history wall:) They tell the story of Logos Hope, how it started, and how they grew and stuff:)

And some other stuff- still in the entrance:)

The Logos attraction is divided into 3major parts:) --- for me:))
1. The bookstore
2. The Walkthrough - that's what I call it
and finally
3. the International Cafe

 The Bookstore

The Walkthrough is like an interactive picture story:) You walk with the speaker narrator, for you to understand the pictures and the real message behind the story:)

or it can be self explanatory if that is what you want as well:))

Finally the international cafe:) We were expecting to eat some awesome food to blog, but they were all just snacks and cakes:( since we didn't eat breakfast yet, so we just decided to eat someplace else after:)

It was an awesome day!
Besides the attraction and the whole experience, it was the books that me and Migs's bought in this place that made our whole trip complete!:)

They sell 3 books for php 500! :D

Medical Laboratory Procedures in the market is $ 89.69
(Amazon)

Anatomy and Physiology in the market is $ 70.00
(Amazon)

The western experience in the market is $68.00
(Amazon)

Which is $227.69 in all!!!!!:)
if you convert that to peso (php 43.00) it would be
Php9,790.67
but guest what folks, we got ALL 3 BOOKS for
Php 500.00
AWESOME RIGHT?!?!?!

You might be wondering why the books are cheap. We asked the same question as well!  The sales lady told us that these books were donations from several publishing company. Since these publish companies are advocates of education:D

AWESOME :D

After this new adventure we ate in shakeys:)) you guys know where this is:))
